to decolonize desire is to recognize that it was never really about getting everything you ever wanted…

desire itself is the destination

Desire is not secondary to the manifestation, the manifestation is secondary to the desire… to the degree that it is almost inconsequential. This subtle distinction holds the power to liberate us from our conditioning, our limiting beliefs, and ultimately, the experience of ourselves as being separate from the larger tapestry of all of life.

Modern manifestation culture reflects a limited understanding that desire is its own reward. Although many of the tools utilized reflect this truth, the ultimate goal remains: attainment of the object of desire. Tools such as “acting as if”, “shifting identities”, and even some deeper techniques focused on healing trauma and cultivating self worth remain helpful because they reflect what happens when we shift paradigms from outside-in to inside-out. Yet their utilization as an “in order to obtain” renders their medicine far less potent.

We have our colonized western conditioning to thank for relating to desire in this way. Colonizer mentality is shaped through ownership; through having, penetrating, and claiming. It says, “I will be safe WHEN. I will be worthy WHEN”. This paradigm creates conditional safety, conditional worthiness, and conditional wholeness.

But here’s the catch: The moment that we stop making our wholeness dependent on anything, is the moment that we start experiencing our wholeness.

desire itself is the destination...

desire itself is the destination...

At Neptune Folk we decolonize desire by liberating it from the shackles of service to an outcome. Desire is our life force energy, and without pressure to yield results it is free to flow wildly, like a river. This restores our radiance, vitality, creativity, and sexuality. It rewires trauma and heals shame. Without attachment to outcome, the perfection of the present moment reveals itself, and we are able to actually taste its deliciousness, without it needing to be anything more than exactly what it is.

Devotion without condition. This is the path of the sacred feminine. Welcome; I am honored to walk this path with you.
